Peptide education,
without the hype.

Understand the evidence, get concentration math right, and learn what analytical testing can—and cannot—tell you. Built for curious readers in Canada and the US.

01Regulation is regional

Canada and US status are checked separately.

02Evidence stays in context

Regulatory review, human clinical, preclinical, and anecdotal information are labeled separately.

03Testing has limits

Purity never stands in for identity, quantity, or sterility.

04Community informs topics

Questions guide education, not scientific conclusions.

Authorized products existProduct-specific randomized trials and regulatory review

GLP-1 receptor agonist

Semaglutide

A long-acting GLP-1 analog. Authorized products and gray-market powders are not interchangeable.

Why it is discussedBlood-sugar management and chronic weight management

Semaglutide is discussed because specific prescription products have evidence and authorization for type 2 diabetes, chronic weight management, and certain cardiovascular-risk indications. Those findings belong to the studied products and populations—not to unverified powder sold under the same ingredient name.

Authorized products existProduct-specific randomized trials and regulatory review

Dual GIP / GLP-1 receptor agonist

Tirzepatide

A synthetic, lipidated peptide that activates GIP and GLP-1 receptors.

Why it is discussedDiabetes treatment and chronic weight management

Tirzepatide activates two incretin pathways and is discussed for its effects on glucose control, appetite, and body weight. Approved uses, contraindications, and strengths are product-specific; a research vial is not equivalent to an authorized medicine.

Investigational · not authorizedOngoing and published investigational human trials

GIP / GLP-1 / glucagon agonist

Retatrutide

An investigational triple-receptor agonist. Trial activity does not equal regulatory approval.

Why it is discussedNext-generation metabolic and obesity research

Retatrutide is discussed because it combines GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptor activity and is being studied for obesity and metabolic outcomes. Promising trial results do not make online products approved, establish self-directed dosing, or confirm that a vial contains the clinical-trial molecule.

No authorized product identifiedPrimarily preclinical evidence with sparse human data

Research peptide

BPC-157

Human evidence is sparse and inadequate to establish efficacy, dosing, or long-term safety.

Why it is discussedInjury-recovery and gastrointestinal claims

BPC-157 is commonly discussed for tendon, ligament, wound, and gastrointestinal recovery. Most supportive claims are extrapolated from laboratory or animal work; reliable human evidence is too limited to establish effectiveness, dosing, or long-term safety.

No authorized product identifiedPreclinical and molecule-adjacent evidence

Thymosin beta-4 fragment

TB-500

A short thymosin beta-4-related fragment; it should not be treated as interchangeable with full-length thymosin beta-4.

Why it is discussedWound-healing and soft-tissue recovery claims

TB-500 is discussed in injury-recovery communities for wound, tendon, muscle, and mobility claims. FDA identifies no human exposure data for the TB-500 fragment it reviewed, so laboratory or animal findings cannot establish a safe or effective human use.

No authorized product identifiedMechanistic, preclinical, and limited topical evidence

Copper-binding tripeptide

GHK-Cu

A copper complex also called copper tripeptide-1; topical cosmetic and injectable contexts carry very different evidence and risk questions.

Why it is discussedSkin, hair, wound, and tissue-remodeling research

GHK-Cu is discussed for skin appearance, hair, extracellular-matrix, and wound-biology claims. Limited topical or cosmetic evidence does not establish broad systemic benefits, and it cannot be used to justify injection.

Concentration math

Measure the math.
Do not guess the dose.

This calculator converts a verified vial quantity and diluent volume into concentration, volume, and U-100 syringe units. It does not tell you what amount to use.

Before entering anything

Use only the amount printed on a reliable label or confirmed by a qualified professional. “Syringe units” are volume markings—not milligrams or micrograms.

General reconstitution safety

Bacteriostatic water is not appropriate for every product. Use only the diluent and volume specified by the authorized product, prescriber, pharmacist, or validated protocol.

  1. Confirm the product identity, labeled amount, diluent, expiry, and storage instructions.
  2. Use clean hands, a clean surface, sterile single-use supplies, and an intact vial.
  3. Introduce diluent gently against the vial wall and avoid vigorous shaking unless instructions say otherwise.
  4. Label the final concentration and preparation date; follow product-specific storage and discard instructions.

Requesting a PDF sends your calculation values to Cloudflare to generate the worksheet; they are not saved in our database. Emailing it also sends the worksheet and recipient address to Resend for delivery. Privacy Notice.

Analytical testing

What laboratory methods can—and cannot—prove.

HPLC-UV, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, assay, sterility, and endotoxin testing answer different questions. Every result remains limited to its method and submitted sample.

Illustrative chromatogramUV response → time
  1. 1
    Inject

A prepared sample enters the chromatographic system.

  2. 2
    Separate

Compounds interact differently with the column and mobile phase.

  3. 3
    Detect

UV absorbance is recorded as components leave the column.

  4. 4
    Integrate

Peak areas are calculated under defined method rules.

Read “99%” carefully

Area purity is a relative signal.

A reported HPLC-UV area percentage usually describes the main integrated UV peak relative to included peaks under that method. It does not automatically establish:

  • Identity

Is the main peak actually the claimed molecule?

  • Quantity

How many milligrams of peptide are in the vial?

  • Sterility

    Are viable microorganisms absent?

  • Endotoxin

Are bacterial endotoxins below a justified limit?

  • Hidden impurities

Does the method detect every relevant compound equally?

Community intelligence

Start with the questions people keep asking.

Public community discussion helps prioritize education. It is never used as proof of safety, efficacy, or vendor quality.

How the intelligence pipeline works

Permitted public material is reduced to de-identified question themes, then ranked by recurrence, recency, unansweredness, decision value, and safety importance. Medical answers are verified against primary sources—not community consensus.
